GUITAR SYNDICATE itself is a "Shadows" covergroup right out of the top drawer. The group will be playing together for 20 years in 2003 and took its name from the LP of the same name by Hank B. Marvin.

All the members of GUITAR SYNDICATE played in amateur bands during the early Sixties and it is therefor no wonder that after many years of musical inactivity the "Mid-life Crisis" prompted them to pick up the musical thread once again. What is a hobby for them is in fact their passion, so much so that GUITAR SYNDICATE evokes that specific "Shadows' sound" with almost fanatical perfectionism.

The group's repertoire includes not just all the early hits of THE SHADOWS (Apache, Wonderful Land, Atlantis, Shadoogie, Sleepwalk, FBI, etc...) but a selection of the later works too, with such moving titles as Theme From The Deer Hunter, Don't Cry For Me Argentina, All I Ask Of You, etc... A particular point about GUITAR SYNDICATE is that the band also features less well known Shadows' numbers from the mass of material available on both LP and EP. The vocal repertoire is drawn chiefly from Cliff Richards' big hits from the time he was inseparable from THE SHADOWS (Living Doll, Do You Wanna Dance, Summer Holiday, etc....)

GUITAR SYNDICATE has earned itself an international reputation. It is a geast band each year in The Netherlands at the International "Cliff and Shadow" Meeting and has performed in Germany, Norway, France and Spain. Particular feathers in the band's hat are the two invitations GUITAR SYNDICATE had from Shadows' Bruce Welch himself to perform in England at Shadowmania, as well as the honour paid to the band by Bruce and Brian "Licorice" Locking and Alan Jones in joining it as guests in several numbers.

On their new CD "Mid-life Crisis" they created a few hit numbers, such as Wonderful Land, Dance On, Don't Cry For Me Argentina and Theme From The Deer Hunter.

Following in the footsteps of Cliff and The Shadows, GUITAR SYNDICATE has also found itself a guest in Spain and for the occasion worked up a number of Spanish sounding songs, which are also included on the CD: Las Tres Carebelas, as well as four Cliff songs, Quizas Quizas Quizas, Maria No Mas, Spanish Harlem and Magic Is The Moonlight (Te Quiero Dijiste)

GUITAR SYNDICATE was particularly honoured by bassplayer Brian "Licorice" Locking agreeing to appear in three numbers. His virtuoso Harmonica playng can be heard in Dakota and Don't Crt For Me Argentina, he takes the bass line again in Dance On.
